Rioja Essentials

There are more than 700 wineries in Rioja that we regularly visit to ensure the best for your Rioja wine tour. In this tour you can experience a blend of 3 very different types of wineries that offers you a good sip of our land.

Long before the professional wineries were established, winemaking was a popular activity among the people of Rioja. Whole grape bunches were tipped into large pools where they fermented and were kept in handbuilt cellars. We will visit one of these traditional wineries in one of the old wine cellar quarters in Rioja. Here your tasting highlight will be: carbonic maceration, fresh, fruity wine.

The charm of the Station District

During our next stop, we will visit one of the “cathedrals” of Rioja. The Station District in the small Rioja town of Haro witnessed a wine revolution during the 19th century and today hosts the highest concentration of centuries-old wineries in the world. We will visit one of these wineries: Lopez de Heredia-Viña Tondonia, CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, La Rioja Alta, Bilbaínas, Muga or Roda. Tasting highlight: rich, complex, velvety wine.

Prestigious architects like Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid, engineers like Eiffel, designers like David Delfín… All working together to build temples to Rioja wine. A visit to a 21st century design winery will end our tour on a high note. Tasting highlight: elegant, spicy and fruity wine.

The perfect tour to enjoy the perfect wine tasting in Rioja!
