Where: Ezcaray
Official rating: 2 Michelin stars

Crisp white tablecloths, a serene atmosphere, and divine food – what more could you wish from a Michelin-star restaurant? Located in the Echaurren hotel, the kitchen is headed up by award-winning chef Francis Paniego who lets his creativity rein free in the tasting menu. El Portal de Echaurren prides itself as the first restaurant in the history of La Rioja to get a Michelin star. In 2013, Paniego achieved the second Michelin star for this restaurant.

Marqués de Riscal restaurant

Set in the jaw-dropping luxury hotel of the same name, the Marqués de Riscal restaurant in Rioja serves up thoroughly modern food – local dishes with a twist, plus of course a divine accompanying wine list. Kiro Sushi restaurant

Fancy something a bit different? Head to Rioja’s capital Logroño and Felix Jiménez’s Kiro Sushi restaurant.
